This morning was almost tragic when my little minpin Cleo came in from outside puking up. At first I didn't think much of it thought she had an upset stomach until but after a minute she became unresponsive, and wouldn't move.
I picked her up, saying, "Cleo!" "Cleo!" "Cleo!". She still was not responding. I got my brother and law and we headed off to the vet. Her gums and tongue had turned grey and we were unsure what was happening.
We got to the vet and when he took her tempeture it was unnormally low. Blood work done, and other test revealed, one elevated liver enzyme, Tonsilitis, and her sugar was a little high.
She then started breaking out into hives. She was suffering from a severe allergic reaction, perhaps something stung her while she was outside this morning. They gave her a benedryl shot and some meds for the liver enzyme and tonsilitis and kept her for a few hours for observation.
At first the didn't know what was happening to her and one thing they checked for was kideny failure which made me cry and hope and pray it was not that.
My husband was so upset because he's on location in GA working and wasn't able to be there to hold her and tell her everything is going to be okay. To cheer him up I took this picture to show him well she was recovering.
Sorry for the flash eyes. It was so scary holding her cold limp unresponsive body in my arms. For a few minutes I thought I had lost her. I love her soooo much I tear up just thinking about it.
So I'm not heading to Epcot's food and wine fest today. My friends have moved it to the 9th. I'm thinking about going tomorrow for lunch. My dad has worked for Disney for years so I get in free, avoiding the 90 dollar ticket or whatever crazy amount they just raised the tickets too. This means I have more money to spend on the food and drinks!
Epcot's food and wine fest isn't the best food and wine fest. Anthony Bourdain would scoff at it. But it is so fun, and the environment of it. Going from country to country.
Having never been out of the country (except for Hawaii which doesn't count). A lot of what I know about foriegn countries I learned from Epcot.
Wow, that kinda sounds sad. I need to do my euro trip, stat.
Other things I've done today.
I've been meaning to take and post some pictures of my new 2010 VW Beetle. Herbette has gone to the old junkyard in the sky and I have named my new bug after Paul Bunions Ox Babe the Blue Ox.
These pictures make her look silver but she is actually a blue color.
Notice the damn love bug splattered on my front. I need to wash her today.
